Washington Middle School brings seventh and eighth-grade students from across our district together into one school. The team concept allows students to work with a core area of teachers while sampling different elective courses meant to broaden knowledge and skills.
The Team Concept
All students are assigned to one of the five teams for instruction in core classes. Seventh-grade student core areas include English, mathematics, social studies, science and reading. Eighth-grade student core areas include language arts, mathematics, social studies and science.
Currently, there are two seventh-grade teams (Blue and White) and two eighth-grade teams (Blue and White). The Jay team is a combination of seventh and eighth-grade students.
The Encore Team offers elective area classes to both seventh and eighth-grade students.
