Washington High School Graduation Scheduled for Thursday, May 21
Washington High School Class of 2026 Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at Scanlan Stadium on the WHS campus.
Anyone who ordered a yearbook, pick yours up May 19th before school in the cafeteria. See Mrs. Straatmann or Ms. Crawford with questions. Extra yearbooks are available for purchase on a first come, first serve basis. Yearbooks are $35.
Middle school weights are cancelled this week.
Any girl interested in playing girls soccer at the high school next year, see Nurse J.
The 8th grade class picture will be taken May 19th at 9:00 am. Order forms were handed out to all 8th graders or you may pick one up in the office. Pictures are $10. Turn in order forms and money to Mrs. Gauzy if you decide to order a picture. Pictures will be handed out to students before they leave the day.
What teacher should kiss a pig? Cast your vote with any change from May 1-20 in the cafeteria. The teacher that has the most money in their bucket will be kissing the pig at the May assembly. Money raised will be donated to the United Way. Any questions, see Mrs. Faust.
May 19: 8th graders turn in their chromebook and chargers, Epsilon Beta Book Club meets 3:30-4:30 pm, 8th grade class picture at 9:00 am, and the 8th grade promotion celebration is from 1:30-3:00 pm.
May 20: Spring Assembly 9:50-11:15 am and Modified Day (dismiss at 12:30).
May 21: End of 4th Quarter, Last Day of School, and Modified Day (dismiss at 12:30).
May 28: Report Cards available in Lumen.
As the school year begins to wind down, I want to reach out with some information for our WMS Summer School offerings. Summer school at WMS is remediation only and we only offer our four core classes: Math, Social Studies, Science, and English/Language Arts. All classes are through an online program, but students will be required to be at the school for the first week of summer school.
WMS Summer School Dates:
May 26,27,28, June 1,2,3,4 - 8,9,10,11 - 15,16,17,18 - 22,23,24,25
No school on Friday, June 19th
This will take place from 7:30-11:00am
You will be receiving another ParentSquare message prior to May 1 if your student is recommended or required to attend summer school.
8th graders: You can register for WHS Summer School classes at this time. Sign-ups are on the WHS webpage under the student tab. If you have any questions, see Ms. Mathes.
If you would like to send a birthday gram to a student for $5.25, please see the flyer on the website or pick one up from the office.

The last day of the 2025-26 school year in the School District of Washington is Thursday, May 21. Wednesday and Thursday, May 20 and 21, are modified days (half days).

The Washington High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) held their end of the year awards banquet on Wednesday, May 14, in the Little Blue Jay Gym at WHS.

Hosting the Class 4 District 5 Track and Field Meet on Saturday, May 16, Washington High School recorded second-place finishes in both the boys and girls team standings.
