Washington High School Celebrates National FFA Week
Washington High School celebrated National FFA (Future Farmers of America) Week February 21-28.
March 3: D&D Club meets 3:30-4:30 pm in Mrs. Straatmannn’s room, WMAS meets 3:30-5:00 pm in Mrs. Veltrop’s room, and the volleyball game is in Hermann at 5:30 pm.
March 4: Wellness Wednesday Schedule and Stuco meets at 8 am in Mrs. Faust’s room.
March 5: Track meeting for students at 8:15 am in the gym, Brain Bowl meets 3:30-4:30 pm n Mr. Dennis’ room, & the home volleyball game vs Union is at 5:30 pm.
March 9: 7 Blue Team registering for 8th grade.
March 11: 7 White Team registering for 8th grade.
Track season begins March 9th. Students interested in participating must submit an agreement form and complete the registration process through the athletic department at the high school along with uploading a sports physical. There is a track meeting March 5 at 8 am in the WMS gym. If you have any questions, please see Coach Hornback or Coach Haddox.
Fundraiser for Blue Jays at the Blues Game on March 10th. Each ticket sold on our unique WMS link, the Blues will donate a portion to us. Please spread the word around to your friends, family, etc. Use social media if you’d like. It’s Wayne Gretzky bobblehead giveaway as well. Link to purchase tickts can be found in Parentsquare.
WHS Jaywalkers Dance Open Gym is March 20th from 6-8 pm in the Little Blue Jay Gym at WHS. This is open to 6th grade and up. Come find out what it takes to be a Jaywaker.

As part of National FFA Week (February 21–28), FFA members made an impact on Monday, February 23 - packaging 52,000 servings of food for families in need across Franklin County.

Dr. Heather Clark, counselor at South Point Elementary, is the February recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.

Markie Lampkin has been named assistant principal at Washington High School, effective July 1, 2026. The Board of Education approved the hire on Wednesday, February 18.
