Washington High School Students Participate in State Music Festival
Washington High School WHS music students participated in the annual MSHSAA State Music Festival on Thursday, April 30.
WMS home track meet is cancelled today, May 5, 2026.
What teacher should kiss a pig? Cast your vote with any change from May 1-20 in the cafeteria. The teacher that has the most money in their bucket will be kissing the pig at the May assembly. Money raised will be donated to the United Way. Any questions, see Mrs. Faust.
Students can dress up May 4-8 for Teacher Appreciation Week:
Manic Monday – PJ’s
Taco Tuesday – Wear green, white, and red
Whisked Up Wednesday – Aprons and chef hats
Throwback Thursday – 80’s themed
Friday – Trucker hats
***Reminder – Spring Fling is Friday the 8th as well – Hawaiian themed.
May 5: Home track meet at 4:00 pm and beginning band meeting in the WMS gym at 6:00 pm.
The Spring Fling this Friday is Hawaiian themed. Kona Ice will be here. There is a link sent through Parent Square for students to pre-purchase a $5 Kona Ice item. Also, if interested, students should bring money to purchase concessions, leis for $1 and sunglasses for $2. There will be games to play and fun things to do that day.
The last day of soda tab collection is May 15th.
As the school year begins to wind down, I want to reach out with some information for our WMS Summer School offerings. Summer school at WMS is remediation only and we only offer our four core classes: Math, Social Studies, Science, and English/Language Arts. All classes are through an online program, but students will be required to be at the school for the first week of summer school.
WMS Summer School Dates:
May 26,27,28, June 1,2,3,4 - 8,9,10,11 - 15,16,17,18 - 22,23,24,25
No school on Friday, June 19th
This will take place from 8:00-11:00am
You will be receiving another ParentSquare message prior to May 1 if your student is recommended or required to attend summer school.
8th graders: You can register for WHS Summer School classes at this time. Sign-ups are on the WHS webpage under the student tab. If you have any questions, see Ms. Mathes.
D&D Club and Brain Bowl have finished meetings for the year.
If you would like to send a birthday gram to a student for $5.25, please see the flyer on the website or pick one up from the office.
