Service Learning Day Connects Washington High School Sophomores With Community
Sophomores at Washington High School participated in a service learning day on Tuesday, October 21. Nearly 300 sophomores participated.

Let’s help SRO Hudson and the Washington Police Department with their canned food drive. It runs Oct. 20-Nov. 14. Bring in non-perishable items to your 1st hour teacher. Benefitting Loving Hearts. Winning 1st hour gets a free pizza party.
Mystery Book Club is hosting a Spooky Story Contest! See flyers in teh hall or your language arts teacher for information on how to enter the contest. Winners will be announced and prizes will be delivered on Halloween!.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place at the middle school October 23 from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 1-7 p.m. Walk-in conferences are from 8:30-11 a.m. No appointment is needed. Appointment conferences will run from 1-7 p.m. Teams have sent out signup links to parents via ParentSquare. Parents should contact the middle school if they have not received a link to sign up.
The basketball game on the 23rd is in Cuba at 5:30 pm.
Boys basketball tryouts will begin on Oct. 27 through Oct. 29 from 4-6 pm. The first two days of tryouts will be at the high school. You must have your online registration completed and a valid physical uploaded in order to tryout. If you missed the basketball meeting, pick up information in the office.

Monday-Wear red to kick off Red Ribbon Week
Tuesday-Team up against drugs; wear a jersey
Wednesday-Sock it to drugs; Crazy Sock Day
Thursday – Don’t let drugs hide your future; wear camoflauge (no face/body paint or hats)
Friday – Wake up drug free; PJ Day
Epsilon Beta Book Club meets October 28 from 3:30-4:30 pm in the Library.
The FFA field trip to Lavender Farms is October 30th.

Washington High School senior Abby Blackwell competed at the MSHSAA Class 3 Girls Golf Championships Monday and Tuesday, October 20 and 21, at Twin Hills Country Club in Joplin.
