WMS Ag Science Teacher

Secretary for the Union FFA Alumni

How FFA Came to WMS...

When the opportunity came up to start a Jr. FFA chapter at Washington Middle School, Mrs. Kaylin Bade jumped on the opportunity. Mrs. Bade has been in FFA since she was in High School. She's always been doing something with agriculture, whether it be at her own home or with school. So what started as just a few members has quickly grown to over 50 members a year!

Mrs. Bade started at WMS as an English Teacher, but her passion for agriculture was evident to administration. So when WMS began looking for more classes to offer the students, they immediately asked Mrs. Bade if she would want an Ag Class. Of course she said yes. But that first year was a little complicated... trying to teach English one hour only to have kids using saws and building shelves the next hour. Now she's down in room 1107 ready to help any of her students if they need her!

Students learn so many skills by working with Mrs. Bade. They learn hands on skills like how to use tools as they build chicken coops. To compassion as they work with animals and others in the community.
